Material Bank is the world’s largest material marketplace for the architecture and design industry. Operating in 37 countries, our platform has become the standard for design professionals around the globe. Every day, Material Bank connects thousands of designers with tens of thousands of materials from leading brands. Material Bank is the fastest and most powerful way for design professionals to search, sample, and specify materials.

Material Bank is hiring a Senior Event Marketing Manager to own our presence and performance across the major trade shows and industry events that drive new member acquisition and firm penetration across Architecture & Design (A&D), Facilities Management (FM), Property Management, Real Estate Development, and Corporate Workplace audiences.

This is a senior, individually-accountable role: you will set the event strategy (which events we invest in and why), and drive it through to execution, including on-site presence, team staffing, and vendor management. You will be measured on registration, order, and firm-penetration outcomes, not just activity or attendance.

What You'll Do

  • Build and maintain a decision framework for which events Material Bank pursues, sponsors, or exhibits at, balancing audience fit, historical/projected ROI, and strategic firm presence (e.g., NeoCon, AIA Conference on Architecture, Clerkenwell Design Week, Paris Design Week, plus FM/property/CRE/corporate workplace events).
  • Set annual and quarterly event calendars and budgets in partnership with Marketing leadership.
  • Define target-firm lists per event in coordination with Performance Marketing and Lifecycle Marketing.
  • Lead end-to-end event execution: booth/experience design, staffing plans, logistics, travel, and on-site presence at major shows.
  • Assemble and lead cross-functional teams pulled from the broader marketing org (Field, Lifecycle, Performance, Integrated Marketing) plus external contractors/agencies as needed.
  • Design branded, differentiated on-site experiences (activations, giveaways, incentive structures) that drive registration and engagement, not just booth traffic.
  • Manage relationships with show organizers, industry associations (e.g., IFMA, AIA, IIDA), and vendors; negotiate sponsorship and exhibitor terms.
  • Own event-level and program-level reporting against KPIs (below).
  • Partner with Analytics/Data teams to track attendee-to-member-to-order conversion by event and by firm.
  • Report results and recommendations to Marketing leadership on a regular cadence, with a clear read on what's working and what to cut.

What You’ll Bring

  • 10+ years of experience in event marketing, field marketing, or trade show/conference management.
  • Demonstrated track record of setting and hitting metrics-based goals through events (not just running logistics).
  • Experience designing engagement mechanics, including incentive structures, activations, and branded experiences, that measurably drive participation and conversion, not just attendance.
  • Strong project management skills: able to run multiple events in parallel, manage budgets, and coordinate cross-functional and external teams.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively and be physically present at events, including evenings/weekends as required by show schedules.

Strongly preferred

  • Experience within the architecture & design industry.
  • People management experience (has led or managed teams, including cross-functional or dotted-line staff).
  • Existing relationships with industry associations (e.g., IFMA, AIA, IIDA) and event/vendor networks.
